Bird's nests....any good as a tinder nest for fire starting?

For some time now, I have heard that a natural birds nest makes an excellent tinder nest for starting your campfire. I recently found one that had blown down while out hiking, so I decided to test it with a ferro rod [fire steel] and the results were very impressive. It burned for a very long time. There was a mix of natural and synthetic materials woven into the nest, which was very dense, and I suspect this might explain why it burned for so long. Here is my video of the test:
